MABUHAY!!!

In the early 1980's, the Filipino community in Oxford County, ON, embarked on a journey that would not only celebrate our cultural heritage but also foster a sense of unity and purpose. What began as informal gatherings for parties evolved into a significant cultural force, with the community hosting an annual Christmas potluck party that became a cherished tradition.

As the Filipino community in Oxford County flourished, so did the aspirations of its members. In response to the growing need for more structured and focused approach, the decision was made to formalize our efforts by registering as a non-profit organization. This pivotal step allowed the community to channel its energy towards specific goals, with a particular emphasis on youth programs.

The Filipino-Canadian Association of Oxford County set our sights on nurturing the next generation, recognizing the importance of preserving and passing on their rich cultural heritage. Youth programs were established, emcompassing a diverse range of activities such as recreation, sports, and language and culture classes. These initiatives aimed not only to connect the younger members with their roots but also to provide a platform for personal growth and development.

The association's commitment to community building extended beyond our cultural boundaries. With a desire to give back to the broader Oxford County community, the association actively engaged in charitable activities. Whether through volunteering, organizing community events, or collaborating with local initiatives, we sought to be a positive force for change.
